 Canada Born and raised in Toronto, Tesfaye began his career in 2009 by anonymously releasing music on YouTube. Two years later, he co-founded the XO record label and released the mixtapes House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence, which gained recognition for his style of contemporary and alternative R&B and the mystique surrounding his identity.[4] In 2012, he signed with Republic Records and rereleased the mixtapes in the compilation album Trilogy. He explored dark wave in his debut studio album Kiss Land (2013), which debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200. Tesfaye explored new wave and dream pop with his critically acclaimed fourth studio album After Hours (2020), which featured the chart record-setting single "Blinding Lights" and the US number-one singles "Heartless" and "Save Your Tears".[7] His dance-pop inspired fifth album Dawn FM (2022) included the US top-ten single "Take My Breath", and "Sacrifice".   

 Among the world's best-selling music artists with over 75 million records sold,[8] Tesfaye holds several streaming and Billboard chart records.[9][10] He is the first artist to simultaneously debut on the top three on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs,[11] while "Blinding Lights" is the longest-charting song in Billboard history.[12][13] Often considered as a prominent figure in contemporary popular music,[14] Tesfaye was listed by Time as one of the world's most influential people in 2020.[15] An advocate for racial equality and food security, he was appointed a World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador in 2021.[16]

በ2013 ዓ.ም ብሔራዊ ቡድናችንን በመረከብ ያለፉትን ሁለት ዓመታት በስራ ላይ የቆዩት አሰልጣኝ ውበቱ አባተ በቆይታቸው ብሔራዊ ቡድኑን ወደ አፍሪካ ዋንጫ ከስምንት ዓመት በኋላ የተመለሰ ሲሆን በቅርቡ ደግሞ በአልጄርያ ለሚከናወነው የአፍሪካ ሀገራት ቻምፒዮንሺፕ (ቻን) ከስድስት ዓመት ቆይታ በኋላ የውድድር ተሳትፎ አሳክቷል።

Ethiopian Football Federation has extended the contract of coach Ubutu Abate

 The head coach of the Ethiopian national team, Ubutu Abate, has signed an agreement with the Ethiopian Football Federation today to extend his contract.

 After taking over our national team in 2013, the coach who has been on the job for the past two years, Ubutu Abate, returned the national team to the Africa Cup of Nations after eight years of his stay, and recently he has achieved participation in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) held in Algeria after a six-year absence.

 The coach signed a contract today to continue as head coach for the next two years (until September 2017) following the completion of his contract.

 Information from the federation indicates that the details related to the extension of the contract and the explanation regarding the passing of the Ethiopian national team to the Chan competition will be given on September 9, 2015.

Mesa Student Johar Zuber’s Journey from self-proclaimed “Cow Herder” to College Graduate

“Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep going. Tough situations build strong people in the end.” This quote by Roy Bennett has been a guiding principle for San Diego Mesa College student Johar Zuber. He will be graduating from Mesa in May 2022, but his path to college was far from conventional. 

Zuber was born in a remote rural area of Ethiopia called Meger, where subsistence agriculture was the predominant way of life. He came from a long line of farmers whose days were spent growing their food, raising livestock, and building their own homes. Men did most of the farming, while women took care of the children, maintained the homes, prepared the food, and pounded grains to turn them into flour. As a young boy, Zuber had many responsibilities, including herding cows and goats, washing clothes, and collecting firewood for cooking. But his most difficult task was fetching water for the family. Each morning he would wake up at 5:30 to start the trek to the water source, then carry a large jug of water back home. He had to bring home enough water for the family to use for bathing, cleaning, cooking, and of course, drinking. His daily walk was a six kilometer (3.7 mile) round trip that took about an hour and a half.
