The new addition is hoped to benefit travellers to and from Doha through with easy access to Ethiopian’s extensive African network via its hub at Addis Ababa.

Connections available include to and from 49 cities the likes of Johannesburg; Nairobi; Lagos; Accra; Dakar; Dar es Salaam and Entebbe.

The news closely follows Ethiopian’s announcement that it has signed a codeshare agreement with All Nippon Airways (ANA) in a bid to strengthen links between Africa and Japan.

As of October 26, travellers have been able to book connecting flights on Ethiopian flights between Addis Ababa and Bangkok; Hong Kong; Frankfurt; Paris; London; Nairobi and Mombasa through ANA.

In return, the African flag carrier will place its code on ANA’s daily Bangkok–Haneda and Hong Kong–Tokyo Narita routes.
