In the depths of infernal circles, dark and deep,
Where avarice's flames eternally seep,
I wandered, Dante, through the realm of sin,
Seeking truths of money's treacherous din.
Oh, money, thou art the root of much strife,
The catalyst for souls trapped in this life.
In Mammon's kingdom, avarice's domain,
Men's hearts consumed, forever in pain.
Through the circles, I witnessed the dire plight,
Of those who held money as their guiding light.
They hoarded and coveted, their hearts aflame,
But found no solace in their ill-gotten claim.
In the first circle, the prodigal squandered,
Their wealth and fortune foolishly pondered.
For they, too, lost their way in money's trance,
But found no salvation in their reckless dance.
In the second circle, the miserly souls,
Clung to their wealth, as greed took its tolls.
They counted their coins, in hoarded despair,
Yet found no solace in their ill-gotten share.
In the third circle, the spendthrifts were bound,
In constant pursuit of pleasure profound.
They squandered their riches with reckless delight,
But found no solace in their lavish flight.
In the fourth circle, the fraudulent dwelled,
The swindlers and cheaters, their vices compelled.
They deceived and manipulated with cunning art,
But found no solace in their deceitful chart.
Through these circles, I saw the tragic plight,
Of those whose souls were consumed by money's blight.
Oh, money, thy allure, a treacherous guide,
Leading men astray, their spirits denied.
But amidst the darkness, a glimmer of light,
In purgatory's realm, hope burning bright.
For there, I witnessed souls seeking redemption,
Finding solace in love and its exemption.
Oh, money, a test upon our mortal souls,
To choose between greed's grasp and love's true goals.
May we learn from Dante's journey, his plea,
To free ourselves from money's tyranny.
Let us not be bound by its chains so tight,
But seek a higher purpose, a nobler fight.
For in the realm of love and compassion's reign,
True wealth is found, transcending earthly gain.
So, heed Dante's warning, in words profound,
And let love guide us, our spirits unbound.
For in the pursuit of a richer soul,
We'll find true treasure, in love's eternal scroll.
