Significant Similarities:

• All systems use RT to retrieve PNRs by record locator
• Most systems use AP for adding phone contacts
• RF for received from information is consistent across all systems
• SSR, OSI, and RM formats are nearly identical across all GDS platforms
• All use similar date formats (15DEC) and time formats

Notable Differences:

• Sabre uses V to start bookings while others use name entry
• WorldSpan and Amadeus use slashes in availability commands while Sabre uses spaces
• Ticket exchange commands vary significantly between systems
• Hotel and car booking commands have different prefixes across systems
• WorldSpan uses FV for fare display while others use FD

Transition Tips Between GDS Systems

Sabre to WorldSpan:

• Replace V with name entry to start PNR
• Change A to AV for availability
• Use SB instead of SS to sell segments
• ER instead of ET to end transactions

WorldSpan to Galileo/Apollo:

• Availability changes from AV to AN or AVA
• Sell segment changes from SB to SD
• Cancel changes from XX to XC

Any System to Amadeus:

• Amadeus follows many Galileo/Apollo conventions
• Uses AV like WorldSpan but with slash syntax
• Ticket exchange uses unique TAM command
• Generally consistent with Travelport systems in most functions
