Floyd Mayweather: Why Should I donate Money To Africa What Has Africa Done For Me? (Video)

Just when you think Floyd “Money” Mayweather has gotten all the foolishness and ignorance out of his system, he displays that it runs deep in him like his boxing skill. The pound for pound and self proclaimed best fighter ever sat down with radio personality Kelly Mac of 107.3 Jamz to discuss donating last year.

Floyd appears open, honest and frank about his lack of donating and lack of desire to donate. The way he sees it is he has an obligation to his family and his family only because let him tell it, no one would ever return the favor if they were in need.

floyd-mayweather-moneyApparently, Floyd hears it often that maybe he should open up the wallet and give back to those less fortunate than he. And Africa is one of those places that many suggest he donates his money, but he doesn’t think that is a good idea.

“[People] say ‘well, he got all this money, why is he not giving to Africa?’” starts Mayweather. “Well, what has Africa given to us? What has Africa came and gave to my children and to my family? Things work two ways.”

He goes on to talk about how giving away too much money can cause the giver to become broke and needed themselves. A situation that is all too familiar as Manny Pacquiao apparently just did something like this and ended up in financial trouble…thus desperately needing to fight Floyd for a big payday.

Nevertheless, his feelings are peculiar because if Floyd was stacking and saving his money, that would be one thing. On the contrary, he is very extravagant with his earnings buying jets, multiple priceless cares, jewelry and more. Items that are not exactly long term investments or saving for his family….not to mention the reckless betting he is notorious for…yet he continues.

“Everybody’s always talking about giving, giving, giving. That’s the problem. Everybody’s doing so much giving, at the end of the day, they may not have nothing. Then they’ll say ‘why was he giving this to that person, and giving this to that person when he should have been saving?’”

Mayweather stands by the fact that he should be able to do whatever he feels with his money. And by his words, that means providing for his family.

“I never got involved in the sport of boxing to say ‘I’m going to fight and make hundreds of millions of dollars and just give it all away.’ If I’m gonna mess money off in a bad way, I’m going to spend it on myself. I’m going to do what I want to do with my money. You hear people talking about, ‘well, he should…donate to this or donate to that.’ No, I should donate to Floyd Mayweather, donate to Floyd Mayweather’s family. Because that’s what it’s about.”

Breaking News! Egyptian army forces free Ethiopians held in Libya - Sisi

"አደጋ አለው " BETOCH
(Reuters) - A group of Ethiopians who had been kidnapped in Libya arrived at Cairo airport on Thursday after Egyptian army forces rescued them, state media quoted Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi as saying.

But one Ethiopian in the group, and a Libyan source, appeared to cast doubt on that version of events, saying the men had only been held up by Libyan immigration.

State TV broadcast live footage of Sisi greeting about 30 Ethiopians who had arrived on an Egyptian government plane.

"Sisi announced during a seminar the success of the armed forces in returning the Ethiopian brothers who had been kidnapped in Libya," state news agency MENA reported.

The state broadcast gave no details of their identity, the manner of their release or circumstances of detention.

Security sources told Reuters that Egyptian intelligence services had provided Libyan authorities with information that helped them free the Ethiopians who had been held by armed groups in the cities of Derna and Misrata.

One of the Ethiopians said they had been held by Libyan immigration authorities.

"The Libyan government came and took us to the anti-illegal immigration body and then the Egyptian government took us from there," he told reporters at the airport. That account was confirmed by a Libyan official.

A statement from the Egyptian presidency's office said Sisi had greeted 27 Ethiopian citizens who represented "the first batch of returning Ethiopian brothers from Libya".

Sisi has repeatedly called for international efforts to combat Islamist militants in Libya, which has descended into chaos since veteran autocrat Muammar Gaddafi was toppled in 2011 during the "Arab Spring" uprisings.

The former army chief has portrayed himself as a champion of moderate Islam in a battle against what he calls the global existential threat from groups such as Islamic State, which seized large parts of Syria and neighbouring Iraq.

Last month, a video purportedly made by Islamic State appeared to show militants shooting and beheading about 30 Ethiopians in Libya.

Militants professing loyalty to Islamic State have claimed several high-profile attacks on foreigners in Libya this year, including the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians in February.

The killing of the Egyptians prompted Sisi to order air strikes on Islamic State targets in OPEC oil-producer Libya.

Libya's mayhem has complicated Sisi's efforts to combat hardline Islamist groups at home, including pro-Islamic State militants based in the Sinai.

"What happens in Libya is a concern for all of us, and we are saying to the world that Libya should return a safe and stable country for its people and even to its visitors," Sisi told reporters at the airport.

CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received a number of Ethiopians returning from Libya at Cairo International Airport Thursday, as many Ethiopians began fleeing Libya after more than 25 of their countrymen were beheaded by the Islamic State group (IS) in April.
Sisi’s move comes after Ethiopian Foreign Minister Tedros Adhanom  requested that Egypt helps evacuate Ethiopian nationals from Libya, diplomats have told Youm7. The Egyptian plane, boarded by the Ethiopian citiziens, came from Tunisia.
On Wednesday, Sisi met Tunisian chief of the presidential staff Reda Belhaj to discuss bilateral relations and the sitiuation in Libya.
After sour Egyptian-Ethiopian relations because of the Rennaisance Dam, the two countries have improved their ties by signing an initial agreement on the dam so it does not damage Egypt’s share of the Nile River water.

Action Speaks Louder Than Words in San Diego: Helping the ISIS's victims familes in Ethiopia

When ISIS slaughtered innocent  Ethiopian Christians on April 19, 2015 (Still the actual date of death is under investigation , according to the victims Facebook page the last day they updated their page is showing in Feb. 2015) that means ISIS may killed them in Feb. or March, but when ISIS released that video on that day it was one of the shocking news ever heard for most Ethiopians around the world.

April 19, 2015 will be a day of remembrance. But one thing ISIS miscalculated  was the effect of the video. As many said their video delivered a message where ISIS never assumed. It showed how Ethiopian Christians are strong and ready to be sacrificed in the name of Jesus. It showed  they can not fling a bit when a knife is pointing at their neck and the gun is aiming at their head. If you see the video the ISIS killer were disturbed and nervous but the brave Ethiopians were calm, rested and peaceful. Because they were going to a place where most of us are dreaming, they were going to the heaven's gate. That is a wish for all true Christians around the world

Also the killing of all those 28 brave Christians brought a unity which was never seen in the history of Ethiopia since invasion of Ethiopia by Italy in 1935. Now Ethiopians are united more than ever. Even Ethiopians and Eritreans are united more than ever, as a matter of fact the entire Christian community around the world is united more than ever. In general the ISIS propaganda video worked against them.    Now African countries are ready to join with the Saudi Arabia leading coalition army  to fight ISIS in Yemen.

Still the lingering question in everyone's mind is why ISIS killed those  innocent immigrants who are risking their lives to have a better life in Europe? ISIS should know this in the future,  when all these immigrants are in Libya or any part of the Middle East they  already know the danger of their presence in that place and time. ISIS should think twice, if ISIS is claiming they don't kill women, I think they are wrong, because when they slaughtering  those Christians indirectly they are killing the live of victims' families, like their  mothers and children. That was a vacuum where Ethiopians around the world are ready to fill.

Yes! Now ISIS's plant is like a jammed gun or a rotten egg. It did not work!  Killing does not bring love! Now Ethiopian and Christians across the glob are helping  victims families. Spiritual,  monetary and community support is pouring to the families. Now we are  not mourning the loss of our brothers but celebrate their sacristy for the sake of sin. As a matter of fact the sake of ISIS sin. Now they are angles.

That is happening across the globe. We are memorizing and glorifying their sacrifices. Not only we celebrate but  we also support the surviving families.  Read the note below!

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – A dispute at a Charlotte church has led to members being banned from church property, the firing of the church’s priest and a lawsuit in state court.

At issue in the lawsuit is whether or not the head of the parish council at Holy Trinity Ethiopian Orthodox Church, Dr. Solomon Gugsa, improperly changed the church’s bylaws to extend his term and alter membership requirements to exclude those who disagree with him.

The lawsuit was originally filed in March 2014. An amended complaint was filed in November 2014.

There are 20 plaintiffs in the lawsuit; each plaintiff is a member of the church and some of them served as officers on the church’s parish council.

In addition to challenging Gugsa’s actions as head of the parish council, the plaintiffs are also seeking access to the church’s membership list and financial documents.

Documents obtained by On Your Side Investigates show members of the church made repeated requests for complete access to the church’s membership list and financial documents before the lawsuit was filed to no avail.

North Carolina state law requires membership lists and financial records of all incorporated non-profits to be made available to its membership upon request.

An attorney for Holy Trinity, Julian Wright, said church leaders have complied with the law.

“Anybody who has ask for those records, that I’m aware of, has not been denied those records,” Wright said.

Wright agreed to sit down with On Your Side Investigates after Gugsa refused multiple requests for an interview.

Teacher suspended for telling student to ‘go back to Ethiopia’

Teacher suspended for telling student to ‘go back to Ethiopia’
College Peer Tafnit Holon suspended a lecturer Tuesday after a video surfaced of the teacher arguing with Ethiopian students, telling them, “You forget where you came from. Go back to Ethiopia.”

The argument began Monday during a class discussion on the violent Rabin Square protest that took place in Tel Aviv the day before, in which Ethiopian-Israelis rallied against police brutality and institutionalized racism. One of the students, Osnat Terunech, whose parents moved to Israel from Ethiopia, had taken part in the demonstration.

“The Ethiopians are taking over the country,” said Aviva, the female lecturer whose last name has been withheld.

Terunech responded to the lecturer, chastising her for voicing her political opinions in a classroom setting. “You’re supposed to keep your opinions to yourself,” she continued. “You are representing an organization.”

“No one will shut my mouth,” the teacher replied. “You know what? It’s time you all shut your mouths.”

“What do you mean by ‘you all’?” Terunech asked.

“The Ethiopians!” the teacher yelled back.

When Terunech refused to leave the class, the teacher called campus police, Channel 2 reported.

After she finally did leave the room, the lecturer addressed the rest of the class. “How insolent they are!” she said. “A few years ago they would never have dared to open their mouths.

“They don’t understand one thing: They’re different from us. And they need to accept that,” the teacher told the class.

A different student responded, “Not one of them is different from us. They’re Jews just like us.”

Another added, “It is sheer racism to say a thing like that.”

According to Terunech, shortly afterward the rest of the students left the class in protest.

Terunech responded to the video Tuesday, telling Channel 2 news, “It’s the first time in my life [I’ve experienced something like this].”

“I was surprised,” she said. “I was hurt.

“How can it be that someone who is supposed to teach me, to give me an education, can say such words?” she continued.

The teacher, Aviva, also responded to the event, defending her position. “What did I say?” she asked incredulously. “Whoever doesn’t like it here, doesn’t have to stay; that’s all I said.”

“[Terunech] cursed me, the government, the police, the college. She started screaming like a crazy person,” Aviva said. “She thought she was still at a demonstration in Rabin Square.”

This cursing does not appear in the video, and Terunech denied it outright. “I’m shocked by the lies,” Terunech said. “I’m shocked.”

The college responded to the incident in a statement, saying, “The teacher has been suspended and has been called to a hearing in order to hear her side of the event.”
