The Wise Tortoise and the Greedy Hyena
In a lush Ethiopian forest, there lived a wise tortoise named Abate. Abate was known throughout the animal kingdom for his wisdom and cleverness. In the same forest, there resided a greedy hyena named Zere. Zere was always on the lookout for opportunities to satisfy his insatiable appetite.
One day, Zere caught wind of a hidden treasure located deep within the forest. The rumor had it that the treasure was guarded by a fearsome creature, and Zere's greed led him to embark on a quest to claim it for himself.
Zere approached Abate, seeking his guidance in navigating the treacherous path to the hidden treasure. Abate, aware of Zere's greedy nature, decided to teach him a lesson about the consequences of his actions.
The wise tortoise agreed to accompany Zere on the quest, cautioning him about the dangers they might encounter. As they ventured deeper into the forest, Abate noticed a seemingly bottomless pit ahead, covered by overgrown foliage.
Abate told Zere, "I have heard that this pit contains an endless supply of food. It is a true treasure for those who are hungry."
Zere's eyes lit up with greed, and without hesitation, he jumped into the pit, expecting to indulge in the abundance of food. However, to his dismay, he found himself trapped with no way out.
From the pit, Zere cried out to Abate for help, regretting his greed and foolishness. Abate, perched on the edge of the pit, peered down and said, "Remember, Zere, it was your greed that led you to this predicament. Learn from this experience and understand the consequences of your actions."
Zere, humbled and remorseful, realized the error of his ways. He acknowledged Abate's wisdom and pleaded for his forgiveness. Abate, showing compassion, decided to help Zere out of the pit.
From that day forward, Zere changed his ways. He became known for his humility and generosity, using his experiences to teach others about the dangers of greed.
