A desire to kill “black terrorists” drove a middle-aged Afula man to
stab an Eritrean baby
earlier this month, according to an indictment issued on Thursday.
The indictment, filed by the Tel Aviv District Attorney’s Office against Mordechai Michael Tzerki, 59, describes how the accused admitted his motivation to police.
“At some point, it’s unclear when, the indicted made the decision to stab a darkskinned baby,” police said.
The indictment reads that Tzerki, who faces an attempted murder charge, told police who arrested him that he stabbed the baby “because I hate them, they’re black and they make a real mess.”
He also told them “I attacked black terrorists, she’s a black baby,” and that he was trying to stop “black terror,” according to the indictment.
When he was asked what he was trying to accomplish, the indictment says he told police he “wanted to kill her, I didn’t try to kill her, I was certain that I did it. The daughter of a whore died? The baby is dead? I’m sure she’ll die.”
He added that he committed the crime as “a sword of vengeance for the whites against the terror against white people.”
The 1.5-year-old Eritrean was badly wounded in the attack, with the scissors piercing deep into her skull and causing internal bleeding.
When Tzerki saw the mother walking with her brother and the baby, he came up from behind them unnoticed and stabbed the baby in the head with the scissors, with intent to murder her, alleged the indictment.
A gag order remains on the identity of the baby and any information that could lead to identifying her.
The attempted murder was reported less than two days before
tens of thousands of African migrants marched in Tel Aviv
and rallied at Rabin square demanding the government change its policies toward asylum-seekers.
Though the rally was planned well ahead of the incident, at the protests pictures of the baby were held aloft and the incident was mentioned by a number of speakers.
Members of the African migrant community have also circulated photos of the infant in her hospital bed on social media since the attack, which has become something of a cause in the community and is widely believed to have partially helped increase the size of the protests that followed.
At the time police said that the defendant was drunk and mentally deranged, and did not say that they believed it was racially-motivated. At Tzerki’s remand hearing on January 5, he appeared visibly agitated and was given 10 days remand, in order to allow the state to examine his mental state.
He was also ejected from the courtroom after shoving his attorney, who said his client was not drunk at the time of the event.
A Tel Aviv police spokesman said at the time of the incident that Tzerki was “completely insane and so drunk he could barely stand.”
The stabbing of the baby took place on Yesod Hama’ala Street in south Tel Aviv, in an area that is today home to mainly African migrants and foreign workers.
South Tel Aviv has been, for the past few years, the
site of tension
between African migrants and Israelis native to the neighborhoods, with the tension often spilling over into violence – typically following reports of serious crimes committed by migrants.

Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has died in hospital while undergoing treatment for pneumonia. An official statement has named Saudi Crown Prince Salman the new king.
"His Highness Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and all members of the family and the nation mourn the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, who passed away at exactly 1 a.m. this morning," said the statement on Saudi Arabian state TV channel attributed to Salman.
Salman has immediately appointed his half-brother Muqrin as his crown prince and heir.
Prior to the confirmation, conflicting reports suggested that the Saudis had initially dismissed the news of the king's death on social media. However, Saudi television cut to Koranic verses early on Friday – a practice known to signify the death of a senior royal, Reuters reported.
King Abdullah had been in hospital for several weeks as he had been suffering from pneumonia and temporarily needed to breathe through a tube on account of his illness.
Abdullah was officially appointed king in 2006, but prior to that he had run the country for at least 10 years as de facto regent, after his predecessor, King Fahd, suffered a debilitating stroke.
The royal’s age is not officially known, However, it is believed that he was born in 1923, according to Reuters.
The new head of state of the number one oil exporter in the world is thought to be 79 years old. King Salman was appointed Crown Prince in 2012 and in the same year started serving as a defense minister. Before assuming these responsibilities, he had been governor of Riyadh province for five decades.
Abdullah was a staunch US ally, who supported Western fight against Al-Qaeda and tried to always keep rival Shiite Iran in check. Under his rule, Saudi Arabia strongly backed Syrian rebels trying to overthrow the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad. The King was the first international head of state to congratulate the interim government of Egypt after the July 2013 military coup deposed Mohamed Morsi.
King Abdullah implemented some modest women reforms in the area of female rights and economic deregulation, but largely stayed away from any changes to the kingdom's political system.
King Salman is said to be part of the royal circle that will continue to pursue similar policies.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Police in a Mexican border city said Wednesday that a drone overloaded with illicit methamphetamine crashed into a supermarket parking lot.
Tijuana police spokesman Jorge Morrua said authorities were alerted after the drone fell Tuesday night near the San Ysidro crossing at Mexico's border with California.
Six packets of the drug, weighing more than six pounds, were taped to the six-propeller remote-controlled aircraft. Morrua said authorities are investigating where the flight originated and who was controlling it. He said it was not the first time they had seen drones used for smuggling drugs across the border.
Other innovative efforts have included catapults, ultralight aircraft and tunnels.
In April, authorities in South Carolina found a drone outside the fence of a prison that had been carrying cellphones, marijuana and tobacco.

Egypt uses church to bolster ties with Ethiopia
CAIRO — At a time when the Egyptian government officially acknowledged that obstacles re-emerged in the negotiations with Ethiopia over the Renaissance Dam — which is threatening the Egyptian share of the Nile's waters — Egypt is seeking to take advantage of the rapprochement between the Egyptian and Ethiopian Coptic churches. This was shown during the last visit of the Ethiopian patriarch to Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria at Christmas. Egypt is trying to benefit from these ties to improve bilateral ties, drawing on historical relations that have linked both churches since the 14th century until their separation in 1959.
This comes as part of Egypt’s penchant toward using all types of soft power on various levels in an attempt to regain its lost role in Africa and rectify the widespread perception on the popular level in all upstream countries that depicts Egypt as stealing Nile water. This inclination coincides with an expected visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to Ethiopia to attend the African Summit at the end of January.

the Holy Father, Pope Francis has erected a new Diocese in Ethiopia which will be known as the Diocese of Bahir Dar – Dessie. In another development, Pope Francis has also erected the Metropolitan Church of Asmara in Eritrea.
The new diocese in Ethiopia has joined together the two districts of Bahir Dar and Dessie. The new diocese or eparchy will have as its new Bishop, Lisane-Christos Matheos. Until his appointment today, Bishop Matheos has been the Auxiliary Bishop of Addis Ababa.
The new Bishop of Bahir Dar – Dessie, Lisane-Christos Matheos was born in 1959 in Addis Ababa. He was ordained priest in 1988 and holds a degree in spirituality from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. The headquarters of the new diocese will be in Bahir Dar.
At the same time, Pope Francis has also erected the Metropolitan Church of Eritrea in Asmara. Although Eritrea as a nation got its independence in 1991 the Catholic Church of Ethiopia and Eritrea have always been regarded as one Episcopal conference. As of today, the two are now separate.
Pope Francis has thus appointed as first Metropolitan Archbishop of Asmara the current Bishop, (of Asmara) Menghesteab Tesfamariam.
On a political landscape, the two countries of Ethiopia and Eritrea have not yet resolved their differences and hostilities continue.

This text was written on a sheet of papyrus that was later reused to create a mask that was worn by a mummy. Although the mummies of Egyptian pharaohs wore masks made of gold, notes LiveScience, ordinary people had to settle for masks made out of papyrus (or linen), paint, and glue. Given how expensive papyrus was, people often had to reuse sheets that already had writing on them.
Scientists have developed a technique that allows them to remove the text from the mask without harming the ink on the paper. The gospel fragment is one of hundreds of new texts. "We're recovering ancient documents from the first, second and third centuries. Not just Christian documents, not just biblical documents, but classical Greek texts, business papers, various mundane papers, personal letters," Evans told Live Science.
Evans also told Live Science that the text was dated through a combination of carbon-14 dating, studying the handwriting on the fragment and studying the other documents found along with the gospel. Because of a nondisclosure agreement, Evans said he can't say more about the text's date until the papyrus is published later this year.
Why It Matters: Andreas J. Köstenberger and Justin Taylor have argued that the evidence suggests the exact date of Jesus crucifixion was April 3, AD 33. A fragment from before AD 80 would establish that the Gospel of Mark had not only been written within 50 years of Jesus’ death and resurrection, but that it would have already begun to circulate widely.
“To have a first-century witness to the text of the New Testament is unprecedented,” says Denny Burk. “That a fragment of Mark was found in Egypt is even more astonishing. That would seem to require that the original was probably penned decades before.”
Justin Taylor recommends Christians take a “wait and see” approach. "It’s tempting to be either naïve (of course this is true!) or cynical (of course this isn’t true!)," says Taylor. "One of the unfortunate things about announcing a discovery apart from a published peer-reviewed process is that the church and the culture simply have to take the scholars’ word for it. I would prefer that these things be vetted before they are publicly discussed."
Last year at the 2014 Apologetics Canada Conference, Evans talked about the discovery of the fragment.

ጥምቀት በአሜሪካ:- A home away home

Well, with full confidence I can tell I have been a regular TIMKET fan for life. When I had my first Timket in Los Angeles it was in the 1990th, now Timket is growing despite some up and down bumps. It is getting better and better every year. Yes, now Timket is growing every year you need to have your cell phone to find someone in case you got lost. I started taking Timket when there was no digital camera. At that time I had only film camera. Now things are too easy and much cheaper also much faster.
I would not say too much but simply it is a home away home.

Califonia Call 511. When your car is brreakindown in Freeway.
Worth Sharing:
True Story.
This happened in California .
California is big. It is too big it can be a county by itself. I heard some people are thinking to break state apart into 3 parts. Today my story is not about its size or breaking it apart, but about highway safety. Today I was in position to call 411, 611 and 911. For my three digit phone number phone book list also I was able to know the use of 511. Please read this story because it may save your life.If you can share it. Here is the story
After celebrating our Timket in Los Angeles we decided to add one more day to see Los Angeles (LA) area and we spent one more night in LA. We (the whole family ) had a wonderful time in LA. We visited Beverley Hills , Holly Wood, Little Ethiopia, Korea Town, Down Town, Staples Center, the Fashion Districts and then we headed to home via Freeway 5. Since it was kind of holiday the traffic was light, we had little bit traffic in Anaheim and Irvine area but the rest was our drive had very nice drive. I was the driver and I was driving the fast left line. Remember the freeway is to wide it has more than 7 lines in one direction and most drivers are speeding by more than 75 MPH( Mile Per Hour) suddenly when I was around Mission Vajio I heard a loud scratching noise under the car. I soon as I heard that noise I slowed down and parked in the car in the left dividing line. Since I was in the far side and can not move the car the the far right.
I thought I had flat tire. I pulled over the car to the left and turn on my emergency light. Since I heard very bad traffic accidents happened to my own friends in the past I remain calm in the car and I did the following.
First I don't want call police and want to call non-emergency phone line. Since I was in the middle of freeway I did not know where I was parked. So, I called 411 (directory) they gave me the High Way Patrol (CHP) number. But it was press one and press two thing. They I hung up and decided to call 911. They asked me where I was. Since I was in the middle of freeway I did not have any idea what exit I was. Luckily I had my GPS and I was able to pin point my exact location, while I was talking to the 911 operator a tow truck showed up from no where.
Remember, we were parked in the shoulder of the freeway (left side) every car was driving 80+ per hour. Th two truck driver backed up slowly and the driver came with flash light. Oh, forgot this, it was night time. The driver checked my car and said the car is Ok. I told him I heard loud noise and I fee like I had a flat tire.
He then checked under the car and found a piece of long wire. He said " That was the problem" but he told me we had a problem on the tire Then he become our shield and I drove the car to the nearest gas station .
Then he came and showed me that piece of wire was from my tire. Then he asked me if I have spare tire and I said yes. But before he started working on the car I just asked. I have this "Road Hazard!" insurance and want to know how much it will be to change the tire. He said his service is Free!
I could not believed my ears and asked him for the second time " how much?" he said "FREE" this time my heartbeat was stabilizing. Then he started the job. He took out the spare tire and replaced the old tire. He check the air pressure for all tires.
I asked him how he showed up there. He said he was going to home after end of his work shift and saw out car from the opposite side the free way and he made a turn just to help us. He was a nice person. I asked him " Who is paying for his service?"
He said his company has a contact from the state and that will be where he will get the money . Latter he told us next time to call 511 when we have a highway emergency. I promised I will share the story with my family and friends. He gave me a brochure and I asked him to give me more and will give it too all friends. That is why you are reading my story.
By the way the tow track driver name was Chris. I told his you are Christian and he said "That is my name!"
He was a true christian. I think every county should have the 511 service
